Orchestra & Jazz Concert

To begin the year, the Orchestra and Jazz Ensemble will combine forces on Oct. 24 at 7:30 p.m. in Cullen Auditorium to perform Duke Ellington’s “Harlem,” a uniquely powerful piece of music. The concert will also feature Derek Brown, Director of Jazz Studies, performing selections from “Focus” by Stan Getz for solo tenor saxophone and strings, and the orchestra will perform “Roman Carnival Overture” by Berlioz. The concert is free and open to the public.
