Leafwood to Release New Randy Harris Book

Mardel Christian Book Store will be hosting a book release party for ACU professor Randy Harris, in addition to Highland preacher Jonathan Storment, who will both be releasing their latest books, “Life Work” and “How to Start a Riot,” both published by Leafwood Publishers. The release event will take place on Thursday, May 8th from 6:30–7:30 p.m. at Mardel in Abilene, located at 4705 S 14th St. Light refreshments will be served and both authors will be available to sign books.

Retirement Reception – Dr. Chris Willerton

Please join the Department of Language and Literature as we honor Dr. Chris Willerton for his distinguished career of service and dedication to Abilene Christian University. Dr. Willerton has served as a faculty member at ACU for more than 40 years. The reception will be Friday, April 25 from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m. in the Library Atrium. A special presentation will begin at 3:30 p.m.

Retirement Reception – Dr. Paul Varner

The Department of Language and Literature invites you to a retirement reception honoring Dr. Paul Varner for his distinguished service as faculty and Scholar in Residence at ACU. The celebration will be on May 8, from 3:00-4:30 p.m. in the Adams Center classroom.

Updated Energy Guidelines

As part of the Cenergistic Energy Conservation Program, ACU adopted a set of energy guidelines to help keep us focused on our goal of saving energy.  There has been a slight modification to the guidelines that were distributed at April’s Town Hall meeting.  All classroom computers, laboratory computers and kiosks must be left on, so they can receive updates during the night.  Here is a  link  to ACU’s Energy Guidelines that we will be operating under.  If you have any question, please contact Corey Ruff at clr06a@acu.edu or ex. 2665.

Candlelight Sendoff Needs Your Help

This year marks the inaugural Candlelight Sendoff, what promises to be a memorable bookend to the ACU experience for this May’s graduating seniors. Sponsored by the Student Alumni Association, Alumni Association and Students’ Association, this is a terrific opportunity for faculty and staff to help send graduating seniors into the world with a candle, a blessing and a word of encouragement. Lineup begins at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 29, at Beauchamp Amphitheatre.

Discounted Six Flags Tickets
