Texas Supreme Court Coming to ACU

by   |  10.21.15  |  Announcements, Events

ACU students and the public are invited to see the Texas Supreme Court in action on November 13 in the Hunter Welcome Center.  This is the first time for the court to come to Abilene.

In addition to hearing two appeals beginning at 9 a.m. that Friday, the trip is part of a court educational program and will also highlight the Jack Pope Fellows program and the pre-law program at ACU.

For persons wanting to attend the oral arguments, security procedures require arrival by 8:30 a.m. for the first case and 9:15 a.m. for the second.  No backpacks will be allowed in the courtroom—please do not bring them to the building.  Also, be aware that wanding will be used for security.

The court will also meet with selected classes Friday afternoon.  Contact Dr. Neal Coates in the Department of Political Science for more information.
