The Student Recreation and Wellness Center will have adjusted hours this week for Fall Break.

Thursday and Friday: 6 a.m. – 7 p.m.
Saturday: 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Sunday: 5 p.m. – 11 p.m.

Pool Hours will also be adjusted. For additional information please see the SRWC Operating Hours Calendar and Pool Hours Calendar.

Invite a Veteran to ACU’s Veterans’ Day Tribute on Wednesday, November 11 at 11 a.m. in Moody Coliseum. The Taylor Elementary Choir will present a patriotic salute to our nation’s military.

The Offices of the Depot and the Registrar would like to invite everyone to attend Karen Griffith’s memorial tree planting outside of Moody Coliseum immediately following chapel on Monday, October 26th.

The 29th annual Chemistry Circus/Science Expo will be in Bennett Gymnasium at 6:30-7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct 16th. There is enough time to do the Homecoming Carnival and attend this event. The department of Chemistry and Biochemistry along with Engineering and Physics students will be doing demonstrations and also will make liquid nitrogen ice cream that will be sold at an inexpensive price! It’s a fun even with lots cool experiments! It’s a great event for kids of all ages!

All ACU employees with young children and grandchildren are invited to attend a special children’s interactive book reading with ACU alumni author, Penny Parker Klostermann. Her recently published book by Random House, There was and Old Dragon who Swallowed a Knight, is a must read for children. Join Family First on October 20th in Hunter Welcome Center from 6:30-7:30 p.m. for an interactive book reading, cookies, and a chance to win a drawing for a signed copy of the book. Children are encouraged to dress up in medieval costumes (princesses and knights). You don’t want to miss it, so RSVP today.

Join the Halbert Institute for Missions for the 9th annual Broom Colloquium with author, blogger and self-proclaimed “very worst missionary”, Jamie Wright. Jamie will help us think about the current passion for social justice and influencing the world. The theme of her talks will revolve around the topic of “Missions, Justice, and Social Media: Can Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook Really Change the World?” Students today seem more globally aware, more compassionate, and more socially responsible than ever before, but is the world really changing with insightful Facebook posts, clever tweets, and perfectly framed Instagram pics? Yes!… And no. How do we translate all this knowledge, passion, and energy into a truly better world?

Come hear Jamie in chapel on Wednesday, Oct. 28 and in Hart Auditorium on Thursday evening, Oct. 29, at 7 p.m. for a special chapel forum.

Graduate School Awareness Week will take place October 26-31. This week of events is designed to raise awareness about the various graduate program offerings at ACU and the benefits that come with earning a graduate degree.
