Warehouse Winter Break Closure

The Central Warehouse will be closed for normal business during the winter break beginning Monday, December 12Monday, January 16. During the close we will be accepting all incoming shipments (UPS, FedEx and freight) and phone calls only. If there is a need for any packages that arrive, the warehouse will be open and available for you to pick up Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 4:00 pm. There will not be any town runs, recycling pick up request or deliveries made, including warehouse stock orders.  If you have any questions please contact the Procurement office at 2246 or email purchasing@acu.edu.

Free Christmas Movie at the Paramount

You are invited to the historic Paramount Theater in Downtown Abilene for a viewing of “White Christmas” on December 17th at 2:00pm.

All current and retired ACU faculty & staff (and their families) are invited
to attend.

Active Shooter Readiness

ACUPD trains regularly to respond within minutes to crisis events and active shooter scenarios, but what can YOU can do in those first few critical moments BEFORE officers arrive? ACUPD offers a great training overview that will help with this. ACUPD can conduct these for any ACU department or organization in 20 mins, 30 mins, or 45 mins, depending on your agenda flexibility.  Contact ACUPD via email at acupolice@acu.edu for more information.

Retirement Reception – Dora Weathers

The Brown Library Invites you to a reception honoring Dora Weathers.  Dora retired from ACU in July after 20 years of faithful service. Now that she’s back in the states, come help us celebrate her retirement on Wednesday, December 7th, 3-4 p.m. in the Brown Library Atrium, with a special presentation at 3:15 p.m.

Please make arrangements to get your deposits to the cashier during the open hours.

WACU Christmas Bake and Craft Sale

WACU will host its Christmas Bake and Craft Sale from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 8. This will be the last food sale until Jan. 12. Please contact Kathy George at 325-672-6505 or Hazel Fillmon at 325-725-4832 to place special orders with one week notice. If you would like to donate items, please do so on Wednesday, Dec. 7, from noon – 5 p.m.

Gift Card Policy

A reminder for the holiday season regarding the policy for Gift Cards,

“Gift cards, gift certificates, and store credits may not be purchased using ACU funds for anyone. This includes those purchased at the ACU Campus Store using a departmental FOAP or purchasing card.”

Please note that gift cards purchased personally will not be reimbursed by Accounts Payable.

Holidays and Vacation Rollover

According to the ACU Holiday Calendar, campus will be closed Wednesday, November 23 – Friday, November 25 for Thanksgiving break, and Monday, December 26 – Monday, January 2 for Christmas and the New Year.

Staff should begin to consider that only 80 hours of vacation can be rolled over to 2017. You can view the details of the vacation rollover for exempt and non-exempt staff that occurs in January here.

Farewell Reception

The Adams Center invites you to a come-and-go campus farewell reception honoring David Christianson on Monday, December 5, from 3:00 to 4:00pm in the Adams Center Classroom. David has worked for ACU for 4 1/2 years as the Instructional Designer in the Adams Center. David is starting a new adventure with IN-Focus Digital. Please come by and wish him well.
