ACUPD wants to remind everyone to make sure you are registered and current with the ACU ALERT system. ACU ALERT is used by ACUPD to alert the campus community to crisis events, emergencies, or weather related delays/closures. You can register new, or check your ALERT status at acu.edu/acualert. Have you ever wondered who can send mass emails to the ACU Campus? ACU’s Internal Communication Policy seeks to define guidelines for group communication using technology at ACU. It is the aim of this policy to acknowledge that email is the primary medium of communication for faculty and staff while also addressing the problem of unwanted email or “spam” through the proper use of the myACU portal. Gatekeepers for various audiences are identified in the policy.
Join Family First this Wednesday, February 8th, from 11:30-1pm in the Adams Center for Conflict and Confrontation, presented by Dena Counts. Here’s an overview: How does your family handle conflict? There may be some members who avoid conflict while others seem to pursue it. In this presentation, Dena Counts provides insights into understanding your own and others’ conflict communication styles, as well as practical strategies for solving conflict.

Stop by the KACU studios Tuesday, December 13 from 9-11 am or 1-3 pm to purchase some great stocking stuffers. The Central Warehouse will be closed for normal business during the winter break beginning Monday, December 12– Monday, January 16. During the close we will be accepting all incoming shipments (UPS, FedEx and freight) and phone calls only. If there is a need for any packages that arrive, the warehouse will be open and available for you to pick up Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 4:00 pm. There will not be any town runs, recycling pick up request or deliveries made, including warehouse stock orders. If you have any questions please contact the Procurement office at 2246 or email purchasing@acu.edu.

ACUPD trains regularly to respond within minutes to crisis events and active shooter scenarios, but what can YOU can do in those first few critical moments BEFORE officers arrive? ACUPD offers a great training overview that will help with this. ACUPD can conduct these for any ACU department or organization in 20 mins, 30 mins, or 45 mins, depending on your agenda flexibility. The Brown Library Invites you to a reception honoring Dora Weathers. Dora retired from ACU in July after 20 years of faithful service. Now that she’s back in the states, come help us celebrate her retirement on Wednesday, December 7th, 3-4 p.m. in the Brown Library Atrium, with a special presentation at 3:15 p.m.
