Over the Christmas break, crews have been working to complete the move into the Halbert–Walling Research Center. This work is nearing completion, and the building will be ready for student instruction for the Spring 2017 semester. Faculty and staff offices as well as departmental offices for Biology, Chemistry and Biochemistry, and Body & Soul have been moved from the Onstead building. The grand opening for Halbert-Walling is planned for the Friday of Sing-Song weekend.
The Onstead building will remain in use for the Spring 2017 semester, with the departmental offices, labs, and classrooms for Mathematics and Engineering and Physics occupying their current locations. Additionally, Biology and Chemistry and Biochemistry classrooms, labs and some faculty offices will still have materials housed in Onstead in order to facilitate a move based on the highest instructional priorities. The Onstead building will be vacated May-December to become a construction zone during its remodel. Immediately before this (probably late April 2017), surplus furniture and supplies will be made available to the campus for use by departments. Until this time, please recognize that the respective departments still control such equipment.
Thank you for your understanding during this exciting time.
