Benefits Tip: New Wellness Program

Please plan on joining us at one of the upcoming launch meetings.  These meetings are not mandatory; however, they will be very informative regarding our new wellness program that kicks off June 1, 2017.  You will be receiving additional information in the mail from GPA, including how to register for the program and a program overview, so be on the lookout.  For more information, please check out the email from Human Resources that went out today or email us at humanresources@acu.edu with questions.

Movies on the Hill – June 1

Don’t miss this free event for the whole family as we watch “The Secret Life of Pets” (2016) on Thursday, June 1.
The fun begins at 6:30 p.m. with great eats from local food trucks 1881, The Toasted Traveler, Stillwater Barbeque, SweetSide and Kona Ice. Live music from Kirk House begins at 7 p.m., and the movie will begin at 8:45 p.m. on the front lawn of campus in front of the circle drive. Don’t forget your lawn chairs and blankets. We hope to see you there!

Reception Honoring Dr. Bill Humble

Faculty and Staff are invited to a come-and- go reception honoring professor
emeritus of Bible, Dr. Bill Humble (’48) at 2-4 p.m. Saturday, June 3 in the Hall of Servants, Onstead-Packer Biblical Studies Building. At 2:30 p.m., there will be a
short program to recognize Dr. Humble’s many contributions to ACU. Bill will be
joined in this visit by his daughter, Becky Liles, and her family from
Amarillo—they would enjoy visiting with Bill and Jerry’s ACU friends. Call The

Benefits Tip: Dental PolicyLink

Do you have the dental insurance through The Standard? If so, are you familiar with the vision benefits that you can receive through your dental insurance?

The PolicyLink Benefit offers the following benefits:

  • Plan maximums, deductibles, and frequencies can be combined for dental and vision
  • You can use your benefits for the health care services that are your highest priority – dental, vision, or both
  • You can visit any dentist and receive benefits
  • You can visit any eye doctor within the VSP Choice Network

You are able to use up to $150 of your $1,500 dental annual maximum for vision expenses. This $150 can be used towards contacts, frames, lenses, exam copays, etc. In order to utilize this benefit, you will pay out of pocket and then submit a claim form in order to get reimbursed. The amount, up to $150, that you use for vision expenses will be deducted from your $1,500 dental annual maximum.  This benefit does not require any dental expenses to be incurred before utilizing the PolicyLink benefit.

You Are What You Love: The Spiritual Power of Habit

Dr. James K.A. Smith will be conveying the message from his recent book, You Are What You Love: The Spiritual Power of Habit to faculty and staff. That which we adore and worship alters our hearts; therefore, worship of God alone must be a cornerstone of our faith. Smith is an award-winning author and philosophy professor at Calvin College, where he holds the Gary and Henrietta Byker Chair in Applied Reformed Theology and Worldview. 
 
Dr. Schubert and Human Resources, have partnered to make this book available to staff. Please complete the google form by May 31st to secure a copy of the book and mark your calendars to hear Dr. Smith speak.

Halbert-Walling Lobby Rental
