Join Randy Harris for a focused short course of reflection and learning for adults on “Christian Ethics in a World Gone Mad: How to Cope and Even Thrive.”
This event will be held in the Hunter Welcome Center on the ACU campus.  It begins at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 4, runs through dinner until 8:30 p.m., picks up the morning of Saturday, Aug. 5, at 7:30 with breakfast and concludes at 11:30 a.m.  With a background of Christian ethics and philosophy, Harris is uniquely qualified to offer clear guidelines for Christian believers to navigate in a very confusing and secular world.  The weekend course is especially designed for people who want to go a little deeper into contemporary issues that a normal Bible class setting would allow.  And the fellowship with other Christians is great!

Join us for a retirement celebration honoring Dickie Hill on Saturday, July 29th at 1:30-3:00 p.m. at the University Church of Christ Youth Center, 733 E.N. 16th. Dickie is retiring from ACU after teaching  from 1977-2017. We celebrate his commitment to Christian higher education and excellence in teaching at ACU. Your presence and/or well wishes are the only gifts needed.

Please join us for a reception honoring Dempsey Peterson’s 21 years of service at ACU. We hope you will come celebrate with him on Wednesday, July 26, from 3:30-4:30 p.m. in the Hunter Welcome Center east lobby. There will be a special presentation at 4:00 p.m.

Human Resources recently published an updated Org Chart. We depend on campus departments to help keep the Org Chart up to date. If you need to request a change, please use the online form. The Org Chart is published every month with changes we receive.

ACU’s IT Department will provide you with information regarding how to check your “acu.edu” (Gmail) account activity and how to use Google’s Security Checkup Tool and  more as part of the Gmail Security Tech Tune-Up being held on Thursday, July 13th, from 11 a.m.-12 p.m., in ACU’s Innovation Foundry located on the top floor of the ACU Library, room 340. Join us as Jeff Brawley (G Suite Administrator) and Hab Adkins (Director of Computing Services) lead us through the security tools made available to you through Google’s G Suite of applications (email and settings).

Each year during Pre-Session, we take the opportunity to present awards to two outstanding staff members. The Senior Leadership Team will select the honorees based on nominations they receive from the campus. Please take the time to nominate a member of the staff for this honor. The deadline to submit nominations is Friday, May 18th. Please note: These awards are for staff employees only; faculty members are honored in each college.

The ACU Library and the Texas State Library are partnering together to host a special training session on our new TeachingBooks.net database, provided by the TexShare Databases program. TeachingBooks.net allows students, teachers, and librarians to expand their reading experiences and promote literacy to schools, libraries, parents, and communities. Face-to-face training with TeachingBooks.net staff is planned for August 2, 2017, in the ACU Library 3rd Floor Computer Lab. Come meet the TeachingBooks.net staff and discover online materials to engage and deepen connections to books, as well as supporting literature exploration for everyone.
