Family First Speaker Series

Do you struggle with trying to find the best way to manage technology in family life? Join Family First on September 14th from 11:30-12:50 in SL 54 (lower lever of the Campus Center) for a discussion on the book, Tech-Wise Family: Everyday Steps for Putting Technology in Its Proper Place, by Andy Crouch. New Location for Family First Speaker Series

The monthly Family First Speaker Series will now be held in the lower level of the Campus Center in room SL 54. A free lunch will be provided with your reservation. Farewell Reception – Dr. Stuart Platt

ACU employees are invited to a farewell reception for Dr. Stuart Platt of the ACU Criminal Justice Program, who is leaving after four years of outstanding teaching to work in the U.S. Department of Justice in Washington, D.C.  Dr. Platt will be working in the Office of Professional Responsibility, tasked with ensuring that lawyers employed by the DOJ follow the guidelines, rules, and laws associated with their responsibilities for the federal government. The reception will be held Friday, Sept.  1st in the Halbert-Walling Research Center Atrium from 2-3:30 p.m., with a presentation at 3:00 p.m.

Our network of clubs and their learn-by-doing program are sure to help you become a better speaker and leader. Every Toastmasters journey begins with a single speech. Members regularly give speeches, gain feedback, lead teams and guide others to achieve their goals in a supportive atmosphere. Join us for our Club Open House to start your journey. Summit Luncheon to honor Friend of Year – Spiritual Quest Credit Opportunity

RSVP today for the free noontime lunch presentation of our 2017 Friend of the Year Award on Monday, Sept. 18, at ACU Library, 3rd floor, near the bay window. This year, we honor Dr. David Edwin Harrell, Breeden Eminent Scholar of Southern History and professor emeritus at Auburn University. A leading historian of the history of the Stone-Campbell movement, as well the broader religious landscape of America over the past two centuries, Harrell’s work also has addressed the expansion of global Christianity through both his scholarship and his service as a missionary among Churches of Christ in India. With the recent donation of Harrell’s personal and professional papers to ACU, we will celebrate the inauguration of the Harrell Collection of Global Religious History.
