Please remember as you use your P-card for purchases of food, supplies or at the ACU Bookstore, to mention that ACU is tax exempt and should not be charged tax for purchases. The tax exempt number is imprinted on your P-card.

ACU Library will celebrate International Open Access Week with cookies and chances for prize giveaways on October 24, 12-5 p.m. at the Research Desk.  All faculty, staff, and students are encouraged to visit the Research Desk to learn more about the newly passed Open Access Policy, how to upload scholarly articles to DC@ACU, and how to obtain free access to scholarly articles for research.

Join the Language and Literature department and ACU Library for “Cover2Cover,” which is a marathon-style reading of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein on October 31 beginning at 10:00 a.m. in the southeast corner of the Learning Commons.  You’ll enjoy readings from faculty, students and special guests.  Stop by, listen, and grab some candy in the Library on Halloween!

ACU will be having an auction of surplus, used computers and other business and electronic equipment in Cullen Auditorium on Saturday, October 14th. The computer auction will start at 1 p.m. The computer equipment will be set up and available for viewing on the day of the sale starting at 11 a.m. Bidder registration also starts at 11 a.m. on the day of the auction. Join us on Friday, October 13 at from 12 pm to 1 pm in the Innovation Foundry (SE corner of the library’s top floor) for a presentation by Greek Orthodox scholar Anton Vrame as he draws from the rich tradition of “iconic catechesis” in the Orthodox tradition to portray how art and theology might best converge to shape us more fully into the image of God.  Lunch will be served to the first twenty-five participants who RSVP by Wed, Oct 11 or call 325-674-2340.

Wristbands for this year’s Homecoming Carnival are $5 and can be purchased online by registering for Homecoming at acu.edu/homecoming. Registrants will receive a packet with their wristband(s), a schedule, a T-shirt (if applicable) and other pertinent information. Faculty and staff who register can pick up their packet early the week of Homecoming in the Alumni office, second floor of the Hunter Welcome Center. The carnival is from 5-8 p.m. in the Campus Mall and in the Money Student Recreation and Wellness Center. Come enjoy food trucks, inflatables, games and more. Afterward, head to the Beauchamp Amphitheater for the Homecoming Candlelight Devotional at 8:15 p.m.
