Did you know that if you are on ACU’s dental plan with The Standard you could possibly qualify for reimbursement related to vision expenses you paid?  Our dental plan has a policylink benefit that allows members to get reimbursed for vision expenses.  You are able to use up to $150 of your $1,500 dental annual maximum for vision expenses.  If you have paid for services out of your pocket you can submit a claim form in order to get reimbursed.  The claim must be submitted within 90 days of the date of vision services.  You can access the form on our HR website www.acu.edu/hr under HR Forms and Instructions – Dental/Vision Reimbursement Form.

The African Students Association this year is introducing a new event called the 24 Hour International Fashion Show on Tues., April 2nd. The 24 hour fashion show will comprise of students in ASA, TCK, ISA, and HU wearing their cultural clothing the entire day on campus. We would LOVE for those of you, ACU faculty/staff members, from other cultures to participate with us by also wearing your cultural attire on April 2nd! There will be a special ASA chapel that day at Chapel on the Hill, and from 5-7 p.m. there will be a photo shoot/impromptu fashion show with all those who participated in the 24 hour fashion show at the Hunter Welcome Center fountain. We hope this event will bring to campus a COLORFUL DAY where the diverse community of ACU can display, with pride, where they are from!

The 1881 Food Truck will be on campus the following dates at the north-side of the Hunter Welcome Center: April 4, 9, and  15. They will be serving from 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Don’t miss out!

Recently, scammers have been impersonating ACU personnel asking employees to purchase gift cards and send the information electronically back to the scammers. Often these messages have an element of urgency and a promise that the employees will be reimbursed. Please do not reply to messages like these and report these messages as phishing. As a reminder, ACU’s purchasing card policy explicitly prohibits the purchase of gift cards. If you have questions regarding the legitimacy of a email, you can always verify the authenticity of such email requests by contacting the impersonated person directly by phone or in-person.

Faculty and staff are invited to attend a concert given by Abilene’s Classical Chorus on Apr. 6, 7:30 p.m. at First Central Presbyterian Church, 402 Orange St. The Classical Chorus is the adult chorus in the “Chorus Abilene” organization and is not affiliated with any church or university. Singers in the group represent a diversity of backgrounds and ages, and there’s a wide variety of music, including Spirituals and Gospel. A number of ACU alums and faculty perform with the Chorus. For tickets, contact the Chorus office at 673-7464 or go to www.ChorusAbilene.net. Tickets will also be available at the door. Admission: $10 for adults, $8 for seniors, students, military.

The ACU Undergraduate Research Festival will be held on April 2, 2019, from 8:30 a.m.-4:20 p.m. in the Hunter Welcome Center. Poster presentations will be from 12:00-1:20 p.m. Participants will include students from ACU, surrounding universities, and Abilene High School. We look forward to seeing you there.
