Inspired by a real event and featuring the Grammy-nominated score by Steve Martin and Edie Brickell, Broadway’s Bright Star tells a sweeping tale of love and redemption set against the rich backdrop of the American South in the 1920s and ’40s. When literary editor Alice Murphy meets a young soldier just home from World War II, he awakens her longing for the child she once lost. Haunted by their unique connection, Alice sets out on a journey to understand her past – and what she finds has the power to transform both of their lives. The story unfolds as a rich tapestry of deep emotion, beautiful melodies and powerfully moving performances. An uplifting theatrical journey that holds you tight in its grasp, Bright Star is as refreshingly genuine as it is daringly hopeful.

ACU Football 3rd Annual Work-A-Thon

by   |  03.11.19  |  Announcements, Events

Saturday, April 13th, the ACU Football team will be holding their 3rd Annual Work-A-Thon.  This is an event where the football student-athletes and their staff split into groups throughout Abilene and represent our university by giving back to the community.  The team does this by performing tasks such as picking up trash along roads and highways, raking leaves and other yard work for individuals in Abilene for five hours that morning.  We like to focus on performing tasks for individuals who are unable to do for themselves.

We are asking our fellow ACU community to help by letting us know of any individuals that could benefit from this service. If you know someone in Abilene who could use our help, please contact Blake Potash at brp16b@acu.edu.  There are limited spots available, so please let us know ASAP.  Thank you for your help in our attempt to bless the community as we represent ACU.
