Show your support for our new students at Candlelight Devotional, a tradition that reflects so many things we treasure about our ACU family. With the introduction of faculty/staff meal plans this year, the price at the Bean for individual faculty and staff meals is now $6.50. The faculty-staff meal plan is an excellent value: 15 swipes for the Bean and 25 Faculty/Staff Bean Bucks (which do not expire) for only $80. Join the ACU Wildcat Cheerleaders for a clinic on Saturday, October 12th! Participants will learn cheers, jumps, and stunts. All participants will receive a ticket to the ACU vs HBU football game that evening and will be invited to cheer with our Wildcat Cheerleaders! Those who register before Oct. 1 will receive a clinic T-shirt.

ACU has an exclusive agreement with PepsiCo. The contract allows for the sale or promotion of any product available only through PepsiCo on our campus. In order to stay in compliance, all beverages must be purchased through PepsiCo. We ask your help and cooperation in honoring both the stated intent and the spirit of the contract. Available on campus, there is a selection of drinks stocked in the Warehouse or you can place special orders through PepsiCo. All prices have been compared to market value. To help offset the cost, we are discounting the price on all drink purchases through the warehouse and PepsiCo. Prices are subject to changes as market value fluctuates. We will commit that pricing will not rise above $6.99 for soft drinks and $3.99 for water, until May 1, 2020.

Author Ibram X. Kendi asserts that “the times when all seem lost are the times when we most need to see the people and ideas trailblazing the way out of the muck.” I’m Still Here and the conversations that come from it are an attempt for the community at ACU to do our part to help blaze the trail out of the muck, to listen well to those speaking up for racial justice, and to do the hard work of anti-racism.

Kendi reminds us — much like Robin DiAngelo does — that “a racist or antiracist is not who we are, but what we are doing in the moment.” I hope that Austin Channing Brown, other important voices of inclusion, and our campus conversations lead us to support more anti-racist ideas, actions and policies.

The ACU Carer Center is hosting their annual part time job fair for students.  Do you have a student position posted for your area? We know students are looking for you! We are offering this event FREE of charge for all on-campus departments. The event will take place in the GATA Mall area with food trucks available as well. We are close to welcoming over 900 new freshmen into our resident halls on August 20th. Our campus has had an amazing trend of showing up on this morning and helping our students and their families move-in and start the college journey. We welcome all of our ACU community to join us in this effort of hospitality. Freshmen Move-in starts at 8 a.m. on Aug. 20th and finishes at 12 p.m. that day. Our Resident Halls that we are moving freshmen into include Gardner, Sikes, Nelson, Mabee, and Edwards. If you have any questions, please email reslife@acu.edu

Archivist and curator Amanda (Arzigian ’12) Dietz, and a university-wide team, including the Office of Human Resources, have opened the Nursing Mothers Room in Room 156 of Brown Library, a dedicated space for women to use during their time on campus. The room has two seating areas and is equipped with electrical outlets, chairs and a refrigerator. The room may be reserved using Google calendar and the key may be checked out at the Brown Library Circulation desk.
