On Campus Bone Marrow Drive

by   |  10.18.21  |  Announcements, Events

Staff Senate is teaming up this week with the Student Nurses Association to host a bone marrow drive on campus with Earl Young’s Team. The mission of Earl Young’s Team is to increase public awareness for the need of donors to supply bone marrow for blood cancer patients, and to increase the number of volunteers who sign up to join the national registry. Every 4 minutes in the U.S., someone is diagnosed with a blood cancer. For many patients, a bone marrow transplant is the best chance for survival. Donors are found by submitting a cheek swab kit that has the potential to match with a patient. If you are interested in registering, please reach out to the senator closest to you: Amy Boone (Brown Library-Adams Center), Makayla Jones (McGlothlin Campus Center, Room 42C), Krista Heath (Hardin 200) to schedule a time that works best. The drive will take place Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday (October 18-20) of this week.
