Hey Wildcats, now is a great time to schedule your wellness appointment for you and your dependent(s) to receive your insurance credit for the upcoming year. The ACU Medical Clinic offers the convenience of getting your annual exam AND biometric screening completed in one visit! The deadline to complete both requirements is July 31st, so schedule your appointment before it is too late! The ACU Medical Clinic is open Monday-Friday, 8AM- 4PM. Handwriting Camp offered by OT Students

ACU Occupational Therapy students will be holding a handwriting day camp again this summer, and we need kids! This free summer camp will focus on: hand skills, visual perceptual skills, seating and positioning for fine motor tasks, and environmental and sensory adaptations. Together, these components make handwriting more successful! Each camper will be paired with OT students for group engagement. The camper will enjoy a variety of activities to enhance their handwriting skills. The camp is directed by an experienced pediatric occupational therapist and assistant professor at ACU. May 2025 Honor Award Nominations

You are invited to nominate students for the May 2025 Honor Awards! Click on this link to view a list of the eligible graduating seniors in a drop-down menu. Each nomination should include a paragraph or more describing the student’s personal attributes or contributions that correspond to the award. Your input will assist the Student Life committee in making decisions with respect to the final recipients for Honor Man or Honor Woman, Trustees Award, B Sherrod Scholarship and Dean Adams Achievement Award. Nominations are due by Noon. on Friday, April 11, 2025.

Plan to join your colleagues for university updates this week on Wednesday, March 19, at noon or 4 p.m. We will meet virtually at noon so faculty and staff who work remotely or are traveling will have the opportunity to participate in the meeting. Remote employees can access the virtual meeting here. At 4 p.m. we will meet in person in the Hunter Welcome Center’s McCaleb Conference Center.

Disability Etiquette Training

Join Alpha for a Disability Etiquette Training Session! Understanding disability etiquette is key to fostering an inclusive and respectful environment. This interactive training session is open to both faculty and staff and will cover best practices for communicating and working with individuals with disabilities, helping to create a more accessible and welcoming space for all.

  • Understand common misconceptions and barriers
  • Gain confidence in promoting inclusivity

Staff Senate Nominations for Abilene Campus

It is election time for the 2026-28 ACU Staff Senate! We are welcoming nominations as well as self-nominations. If you meet the eligibility requirements below, please consider running for Staff Senate. You may review the full Staff Senate bylaws here. Qualifications for Staff Senators (from the bylaws):

  • Classified through HR as an ACU Abilene campus staff position
  • Completed one full year of continuous service to ACU
  • Employed by ACU at least half-time
  • Has not served on the Staff Senate within the last two years
  • Not currently represented by the Faculty Senate
  • Is not employed as an administrator (president, vice presidents, assistant or associate vice presidents, provost, assistant or associate provost, deans, assistant or associate deans, or assistant to the president)
  • Your position is not funded by a grant, so it doesn’t violate the grant qualifications

 

Please submit your nominations or willingness to run for Staff Senate by Wednesday, March 26.
