Medicare 101 Sessions

ACU is excited to offer Medicare 101 Sessions to our employees again this year! We are hosting two onsite sessions with a Medicare expert, Tamela Southan, who will be able to answer any questions you may have regarding Medicare, how it works, how Medicare and ACU insurance work together, and how they don’t. All employees who attend one of the sessions will also get a complimentary one-on-one session with Tamela to answer any follow-up questions you may have. Please feel free to invite your spouse to this meeting as well.

 

Session 1: Wednesday, 3/19, 11 a.m.-12 a.m.

Session 2: Wednesday, 3/19, 2 p.m.-3 p.m.

 

Both sessions will be held in the Reeves Conference room 284 in the Hunter Welcome Center. The information shared in these meetings can be made available for those unable to attend.

ACU IT Spring Computer Auction

ACU IT is hosting its next surplus computer auction on Saturday, April 5, in Hart Auditorium. The auction begins at 1:00 p.m., but doors open for bidder registration at 11:00 a.m. Follow our Facebook page for additional details. We’ll have numerus computers, Dells and Macs, desktops and laptops. We hope to see you there.

Retirement Reception: Colleen Blasingame

Staff and Faculty are invited to attend a come and go retirement reception in honor of Colleen Blasingame on Thursday, March 27th from 3:30-5:00pm in the Lower Rotunda of the Onstead-Packer Biblical Studies Building. There will be a brief presentation at 4:15pm.

Bridge: Partners for Discipleship

The Siburt Institute and the Graduate School of Theology are bringing their new Bridge: Partners for Discipleship program to Abilene on April 4-5. This initiative is designed to equip and educate church leaders, Bible class teachers and other volunteers. We will focus on the theme “Faith Formation in a Digital Age” and will feature faculty speakers Dr. Mark Hamilton (’89 M.Div.)Dr. Tera Harmon (’04) and Dr. Mason Lee (’14 M.Div.). ACU faculty and staff can save $20 off the normal registration cost of $60/person by using the code BRIDGEACU. Benefits Tip: Paid Parental Leave

We believe bonding with children is critical for both the mother and father and encourage all eligible employees to utilize the parental leave benefit. ACU will award six weeks of paid leave for the birth or adoption of a child for both the mother and father. Employees will have one year to use their parental leave, which can be taken intermittently. (Parental leave will run concurrently with FMLA.) Employees who foresee taking parental leave should complete the parental leave application as soon as possible.

  • Dr. Ramonica Scott, associate professor and director for the Master of Athletic Training Program
  • Naoemi Gire (’14), executive director of University Access Programs

Join us Thursday, March 20, from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. in honor of Women’s History Month. We’ll meet in the Hunter Welcome Center for lunch and a program to honor these leaders and acknowledge the profound impact that women have had in shaping ACU into what it is today. There is no cost to attend, but registration is required. Please RSVP by March 14.

The Women for ACU Scholarship

The WACU scholarship application deadline is Friday, March 21. The generous scholarship is for juniors and seniors. Please encourage your students to apply today, and give time for letters of recommendation to be drafted. Thank you!

Workday Transition Project

As announced at the end of last year, ACU is transitioning to Workday, a leading Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platform to replace our 20-year-old Ellucian Banner system. We are now hard at work in the planning phase of this project. For more details on the timeline or to stay up-to-date on the progress of this project, we’ve created a central website at acu.edu/workdaytransition.
