If you have remaining funds in your flexible spending account from 2023, you have until 3/15/2024 to use your Discovery Benefits debit card to pay for 2023 claims. After that time, you will only have access to your funds by filling out a manual claim form through 3/31/2024. On 4/1/2024, the 2023 plan year will close and any funds remaining will be inaccessible. Please also be sure that you have substantiated any prior claims that you used your FSA funds to pay for by this time as well. Failure to substantiate your claims could result in you having to repay those funds to Discovery Benefits.

If you operate vehicles for university business, please read and follow the University Driver Policy. The policy requires that departments maintain a list of their Routine Drivers (as defined in the policy) and share it annually with the Office of Institutional Compliance and Risk Management. Routine drivers must have a motor vehicle record check (MVR) conducted each year and complete an online driver safety training course every five years. Risk Management can provide both links and review MVR or driver training history if needed. Also, all trips with passengers must submit a passenger list to Risk Management before departure. The passenger list must include each traveler’s first and last name, Banner ID, cell phone, and emergency contact information. The list must be emailed to risk@acu.edu. If you have any questions, please contact Risk Management at risk@acu.edu.

One of the great things about working at ACU is the amount of paid time off employees are given. For Full-time employees in 2024, ACU will pay for 19 Holidays and 2 Personal Days. Full-time employees also earn 8 hours of sick leave per month, which is 96 hours per year. Full-time employees earn between 80 and 160 vacation hours annually, depending on how long they’ve worked at ACU. Employees can roll over up to 80 hours of unused vacation each year. For 2024, the rollover date will be December 28. To take advantage of the generous leave balances, it is essential to look ahead at the year now and coordinate scheduled time off with your supervisor.
