Benefits Tip: Telemedicine-Teladoc

With the busy traveling time among us, please keep in mind that ACU has a telemedicine option available. ACU partners with Teladoc to provide telemedicine to all employees and dependents enrolled on the medical plan. Getting sick is never convenient, but telemedicine provides more convenient, quicker access to a medical professional for common conditions. Teladoc allows members to access a doctor from your home, office, or anywhere – 24/7/365. To access Teladoc, you will visit Teladoc.com or the Teladoc app.

Benefits Tip: True Rx+ Update

As of March 1st, True Rx has retired the member portal and app given the launch of their new app and portal, True Rx+. The updated web portal and app offer easier navigation, prior authorization tracking, and the ability to live chat with a Health Strategist. You will need to download the True Rx+ app to set up your account.

Benefits Tip: Onsite Biometric Screening

ACU is bringing eHealth Screenings back on campus for your convenience! Complete your complimentary biometric screening to help earn points toward your 2027 wellness credit. To avoid the wellness premium surcharge in 2027, all employees and spouses enrolled in ACU’s medical plan for 2026 must complete a biometric screening and annual physical with their physician by 7/31/26. Onsite Screening Dates and Times: ACU (Abilene) – Hunter Welcome Center March 5th & 6th: 7:30 am-12:45 pm. Visit the link for eHealth in the flyer provided HERE to register for your screening. If you are unable to attend one of the on-site screenings, whether you are a remote employee or due to a schedule conflict, you can download a form on the eHealth website to complete your screening with your physician. Follow the steps to schedule a screening to access the form. Please see the attached flyer for additional information about registering for the mobile app. If you have any questions, you can also contact humanresources@acu.edu. REMEMBER: You must fast (no food) for 9 hours before your appointment. Please drink plenty of water. Black coffee is permitted. Continue to take any prescription medications. If you have diabetes, please consult your physician before fasting.

Benefits Tip: Employee Assistance Program

You and your covered dependents have access to The Standard’s Employee Assistance Program (EAP). This confidential service offers free over-the-phone counseling any time, day or night, to help you with a variety of personal situations. The EAP also provides up to 3 counseling sessions for both you and your covered dependents, either in person or over the phone. Counselors can help with concerns such as emotional well-being and health, relationships, parenting and addiction. To contact the EAP, call 888-293-6948, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to talk to a professional counselor. Register online HERE!

Benefits Tip: Confirm Beneficiary Information in Workday

Please confirm your life insurance beneficiary information in Workday. To do so, navigate to your User Profile and follow these steps: 1. Navigate to your Benefits tab 2. Select “Change Benefits” 3. Select “Change Beneficiaries” as the Change Reason 4. Enter the current date and submit. 5. Open the change event and select Let’s Get Started 6. Select “Manage” under Basic Life & AD&D 7. Select Confirm and Continue 8. Add your existing beneficiaries with their percentage allocations and Save If you are currently enrolled in Optional LIfe & AD&D, select Manage under that policy and repeat steps 7 and 8. Once all beneficiaries are entered, Review and Sign

Benefits Tip: Qualifying Life Events

Insurance life events, also known as qualifying life events (QLEs), are specific occurrences or changes in a person’s life that allow them to enroll in or change health insurance coverage outside of the regular enrollment periods according to healthinsurance.org. These events typically trigger a special enrollment period, giving individuals a chance to adjust their coverage to better fit their new circumstances. Common Qualifying Life Events: Changes in household size: Marriage, birth or adoption of a child, or death of a covered family member. Changes in employment status (Dependent or employee): Losing job-based health insurance or being laid off. Dependent Loss of other coverage: Losing Medicare, Medicaid, or CHIP coverage eligibility. ***Please Note*** You only have 30 days from your qualifying life event date to make changes.
