The deadline for this year’s wellness requirements is fast approaching. All requirements will need to be completed by Sept. 30, 2018, to receive the full wellness incentives for 2019. Benefits Tip: Onsite Wellness Health Fair – Abilene Campus

Please plan on joining us for a come-and-go health fair in the McCaleb Conference room of the Hunter Welcome Center this Wednesday, September 5th from 10:30 am-1:30 pm.  We will have vendors from all over Abilene here to share information on ways to live a healthier lifestyle.  You will also have the opportunity to win various door prizes, receive a chair massage, try healthy food options, get some free swag, AND earn one credit towards your wellness #2 requirement for next year.

Benefits Tip: August Stress Less Challenge

The Stress Less Challenge is a month-long personal health challenge designed to help you learn how to manage your stress effectively using 4 components: personal relaxation time, healthy eating, adequate sleep, and daily physical activity.

Earn at least 30 challenge credits by practicing one or more of the 4 components each day of the challenge.  Earn 1 Wellness Credit for completing this challenge.

You can record up to a maximum of 4 challenge credits per day.

Track your activity daily by using the online tracking calendar on the My Challenges tab.  If you are unable to record online, you may use the challenge Paper Tracking Log.  At the end of the challenge, submit the completed Paper Tracking Log to the GPA Wellness Department (wellness@gpatpa.com or fax to 469-445-3151) to receive credit.

Reminder: You need a total of 5 points to receive full discounts on your 2019 premiums (1 point for your annual wellness exam and 4 additional activity points), along with your spouse receiving an annual exam IF they are covered by ACU’s medical.  All need to be completed by September 30, 2018.

Introducing Wildcat Care, ACU’s New Telehealth Option

Wildcat Care telemedicine is now available for all ACU faculty and staff that are covered under ACU’s medical insurance.

Getting sick is never convenient, and finding time to get to a doctor can be hard. ACU now provides employees covered under ACU’s medical insurance and their covered dependents access to care for non-emergency medical issues through Wildcat Care. Wildcat Care allows you to access a doctor from your home, office, or anywhere — 24/7/365 — and is a convenient and cost effective way to receive health care for common conditions. Wildcat Care’s licensed providers can diagnose any non-emergent medical conditions with a short phone visit or secure video visit. They can also prescribe medication and send prescriptions to the pharmacy of your choice.   Access Wildcat Care by visiting www.Wildcat.Care.  More information will be sent by email to those employees currently enrolled in ACU’s medical benefit.

Did you know all employees have access to an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) through Standard Insurance Company for free? Connect to resources, support and guidance for you and your dependents. Our program includes up to three face-to-face assessment and counseling sessions per issue with master’s-degreed clinicians 24/7. EAP services can help with: depression, grief, loss and emotional well-being; family, marital and other relationship issues; life improvement and goal-setting; addictions such as alcohol and drug abuse; stress or anxiety in the work or family; financial and legal concerns; identity theft and fraud resolution; online Will preparation; and various other situations. Benefits Tip: July Portal Activity

Our electronic devices can help us keep our life on task by providing us with information in a second and connecting us with our family and friends. However, they can also consume hours of our day without us realizing it. Taking electronic breaks can help us stay balanced and avoid digital overload.  For this month’s portal activity, self-report each day you take a 15 minute walk without electronics.  You must report taking a break from electronics at least 6 times during the month to receive 1 wellness credit for the monthly portal activity.  Portal activities are found under the My Challenges section of the Wellness site.

Benefits Tip: June Water Works Challenge

Don’t forget to record your water intake daily or weekly by using the online tracking calendar on your wellness portal at www.gpatpa.com or on the paper Challenge Tracking Form (linked within the Water Works Challenge activity description).  The goal is to drink at least 150 8-oz. glasses of water by the end of June! All challenge tracking must be recorded or submitted by July 14th to receive credit.
