Benefits Tip: New Wellness Program

Benefits Tip: Dental PolicyLink

Do you have the dental insurance through The Standard? If so, are you familiar with the vision benefits that you can receive through your dental insurance?

The PolicyLink Benefit offers the following benefits:

  • Plan maximums, deductibles, and frequencies can be combined for dental and vision
  • You can use your benefits for the health care services that are your highest priority – dental, vision, or both
  • You can visit any dentist and receive benefits
  • You can visit any eye doctor within the VSP Choice Network

You are able to use up to $150 of your $1,500 dental annual maximum for vision expenses. This $150 can be used towards contacts, frames, lenses, exam copays, etc. In order to utilize this benefit, you will pay out of pocket and then submit a claim form in order to get reimbursed. The amount, up to $150, that you use for vision expenses will be deducted from your $1,500 dental annual maximum.  This benefit does not require any dental expenses to be incurred before utilizing the PolicyLink benefit.

Benefits Tip: GPA Mobile App

The GPA mobile app allows you to check claim status, access your eligibility information, view and email your id card, review your account summary and benefits, check your deductible amount, and you can even send a secure message regarding your claims directly to customer service.  To download the app, search for “Group Pension Mobile” on your Apple or Android devices.

Benefits Tip – GPA Member Portal

Have you taken the time to download all of the resources available to you regarding your benefits? The GPA Member Portal provides a streamlined, easy-to-navigate platform to access all of your health insurance information, including your: Coverage and plan benefits; Claims status and account balances; Explanation of Benefits (EOB)

Signing up takes less than 10 minutes:

  1. Begin by visiting www.gpatpa.com and selecting the “Members” button
  2. Click on the “Proceed to our sign up process” link located on the right side of the page
  3. After agreeing to license agreement, you will be able to fill in your member information using your benefits card
  4. Now, you will create your GPA account profile
  5. The last step will be ensuring your member profile and information are correct and choosing your EOB delivery method

 

Benefits Tip: HSA Bank Mobile App

Now that you have created your online member account with HSA Bank, have you taken the time to download their mobile app for an even more convenient way of accessing your HSA?

Once you download the app, here are a few of the options you will have:
• Quickly check available balances 24/7
• View charts summarizing account(s)
• View claims requiring receipts
• Click to call or email Customer Service
• View, contribute and distribute HSA transactions
• Pay bills from any account and add a payee
• Using the Dashboard, enter medical expense information and supporting documentation
• Retrieve your forgot username/password
• Report a debit card as lost or stolen

Here are just a few things you are able to do through the website:

  • Check your balance and account activity.
  • Add an authorized signer to your account.
  • Order additional debit cards.
  • Open a self-directed HSA investment account or manage existing investments at a glance.
  • View notifications advice of deposits and account statements.
  • Add a beneficiary to your account.
  • Access important forms related to your Health Savings Account.

TIAA Consultant on Campus

Wellness Discount on Health Premium

Every year faculty and staff are given the opportunity to participate in wellness incentives. Currently, we offer a $60 monthly reduction in health insurance premiums. To receive the wellness rate for 2017, wellness exams needed to be completed between 10/1/15 – 9/30/16 (applies to both employees and spouses on ACU’s health plan).

If you did not qualify, you can still have your preventative exam between 10/1/16 – 3/31/17 and ACU will reduce your premium in July.

PLEASE NOTE: The Benefits Committee is currently considering wellness incentives for 2018. We know you will need your wellness exam between 10/1/16 – 9/30/17 (applies to both employees and spouses on ACU’s health). Please continue to watch MyACU Newsletter for other details.
