The beginning of a new year is always a good time to review your pay stub. Please take a minute to look at the details of your last paycheck so that you are aware of your earnings and deductions. Did you know you can look up and compare your prescription drug costs on mycigna.com? Once you log in, select the blue tab “Estimate Health Care Costs” and then use the”Prescription Drug Price Quote Tool.”
Go to myCigna.com and link on the blue “Register Now” button to set up your online account with Cigna. You will be able to check your coverage, get claim statuses, find account balances, search for a doctor, update your address and more.
If you have remaining funds in your 2014 flexible spending account, you may use your Discovery Benefits Visa Card through 3/15/2015 if you are staying on the HCA for 2015. If you are moving to the HRA begining in 2015, you MUST use up all of your Flex funds by 12/31/14.
**Failure to empty your Flex funds will result in not being able to use your ACU and personal contributions to your HRA until 4/1/15.**

If your doctor’s office is wanting to do lab work, send you for x-rays or additional tests make sure you remind them you have BCBS insurance so they will send you to an in-network provider. If you are having difficulty finding an in-network provider contact Compass at 1.800.513.1667 or at answers@compassphs.com for assistance.
Spend your cash on holiday gifts instead of costly Emergency Room visits. When you are experiencing less-complex, non-life threatening healthcare issues, Emergency Rooms can be an expensive way to get quality care. Instead, consider Urgent Care Centers. Urgent Care Centers are convenient walk-in based healthcare clinics that are staffed with the same types of medical providers as hospitals or private practices. These centers offer extended office hours and do not require an appointment which makes them a great alternative to an Emergency Room.

Benefits Annual Enrollment Week is going on now. Download your 2015 Benefits Guidebook and if you’d like to, you can make an appointment for assistance. HR staff will be available in Zellner 216, Mon-Fri. 8-5, this week.
All benefits-eligible employees will need to complete their enrollment online between November 10 and November 14, 2014. Watch for more details.
In the meantime, please plan to attend one of the following meetings to learn about your benefit offerings for 2014. Annual Enrollment presentations are being held in the Campus Center Living Room as follows:
Monday, November 3: 10:00-11:30 a.m., 2:00-3:30 p.m.
Tuesday, November 4: 9:00-10:30 a.m., 4:00-5:30 p.m.
Wednesday, November 5: 9:00-10:30 a.m., 12:00-1:30 p.m.
Thursday, November 6: 8:30-10:00 a.m., 1:00-2:30 pm.
Friday, November 7: 9:00-10:30 a.m., 12:00-1:30 p.m.
Employees & their spouses (if applicable) who are covered on ACU’s plan and choose to have a preventive exam between October 1, 2013 and October 31, 2014 will pay a lower monthly premium in calendar year 2015 than those who choose not to. The 2015 premium rates will be determined later this year, and they will be announced in annual enrollment meetings in the fall. It’s that simple.
