Benefits Tip – 2014 Wellness Premiums

by   |  08.19.13  |  Announcements, Benefits

Employees who plan to elect health coverage for calendar year 2014 and choose to have a preventive exam (i.e. a physical or a well woman visit) between October 1, 2012 and September 30, 2013 will pay a lower monthly premium in calendar year 2014 than those who do not. It’s that simple. Make an appointment with your doctor for your FREE preventive exam and save money in 2014. The 2014 premium rates will be determined later this year, and they will be announced in annual enrollment meetings in the fall.

As a reminder, if your physician codes your visit as preventive, you do not need to fill out the verification form to turn in.  If your doctor codes the visit differently, please have him or her fill out the form for you to turn in to the Benefits Helpline.

Benefits Tip – 2014 Wellness Premiums

by   |  08.05.13  |  Announcements, Benefits

Benefit eligible employees should have received a post card from ACU regarding preventive exams and whether or not you have completed one.  The deadline to complete the wellness exam is September 30, 2013. This will qualify you to pay a lower monthly premium in calendar year 2014.  Simply have your doctor fill out the physician verification form and email or fax it to the Benefits Helpline at acuhelpline@ajg.com or fax to 713-358-5255. Visit the 2014 Wellness Premium page for FAQ’s or contact the Benefits Helpline at extension 3359 or 866-994-7852.

Update on ACU Retirement Plan

by   |  07.22.13  |  Announcements, Benefits

During Benefits Annual Enrollment last fall, we discussed the fact that ACU has begun the process of terminating two of our frozen retirement plans (401a & 401k). We now have confirmation from the IRS that the request is in the final evaluation stage with Quality Assurance. Please keep in mind that until the IRS issues the determination letters we are still in a holding pattern. Once the determination letters are issued, you will have a 60 day window to make elections.  What you can do during this time is review the FAQ’s we have developed. The FAQ document will be updated as information is received. If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact TIAA-CREF at 1-800-842-2252, or humanresources@acu.edu.
