ACU is excited to offer Medicare 101 Sessions to our employees again this year! We are hosting 1 virtual session with a Medicare expert, Tamela Southan, who will be able to answer any questions you may have regarding Medicare, how it works, how Medicare and ACU insurance work together and how they don’t, etc. All employees who attend one of the sessions will also get a complimentary one-on-one session with Tamela to answer any follow-up questions you may have. A consultant from TIAA will be offering individual counseling sessions on campus to discuss your personal financial situation and retirement investments on April 23rd and 24th. You can register for an appointment online. Appointments fill up fast and are reserved on a first come, first served basis. Register here.

ACU is bringing eHealth Screenings back on campus for your convenience! Complete your complimentary biometric screening to help earn points toward your 2026 wellness credit. To avoid the wellness premium surcharge in 2026, all employees and spouses enrolled in ACU’s medical plan for 2025 must complete a biometric screening and annual physical with their physician by 7/31/25.

Onsite Screening Dates and Times: ACU (Abilene) – Hunter Welcome Center April 9th, 10th & 11th: 7:30 am-12 pm

Visit the link for eHealth in the flyer provided to register for your screening. If you are unable to attend one of the on-site screenings, whether you are a remote employee or due to a schedule conflict, you can download a form on the eHealth website to complete your screening with your physician. Follow the steps to schedule a screening to access the form. Please see the attached flyer for additional information about registering for the mobile app. If you have any questions, you can also contact humanresources@acu.edu.

REMEMBER: You must fast (no food) for 9 hours before your appointment. Please drink plenty of water. Black coffee is permitted. Continue to take any prescription medications. If you have diabetes, please consult your physician before fasting.

We believe bonding with children is critical for both the mother and father and encourage all eligible employees to utilize the parental leave benefit. ACU will award six weeks of paid leave for the birth or adoption of a child for both the mother and father. Employees will have one year to use their parental leave, which can be taken intermittently. (Parental leave will run concurrently with FMLA.) Employees who foresee taking parental leave should complete the parental leave application as soon as possible.

If you have remaining funds in your flexible spending account from 2024, you have until 3/15/2025 to use your Discovery Benefits debit card to pay for 2024 claims. After that time, you will only have access to your funds by filling out a manual claim form through 3/31/2025. On 4/1/2025, the 2024 plan year will close and any funds remaining will be inaccessible. Please also be sure that you have substantiated any prior claims that you used your FSA funds to pay for by this time as well. Failure to substantiate your claims could result in you having to repay those funds to Discovery Benefits.
