Thank you for taking the time to review my portfolio for tenure. My ACU story began some twenty years ago, when I entered as a freshman into what was then the Department of Physics. In May 2018, I was given the opportunity to renew my journey at ACU as an Associate Professor in the Department of Engineering and Physics with credit toward tenure for my previous three years of service at Lamar University in Beaumont, TX. In my portfolio, I share with you reflections on my experiences in teaching, research, service, and forming and cultivating collegial relationships within the diverse areas that comprise the university. The transition from Lamar to ACU has challenged me and provided an often humbling opportunity to reflect on my motivations for pursuing a career in academia and my goals as a teacher and scholar. In my reflections I will draw upon my experiences at both Lamar and ACU to describe some of the ways the work I began at Lamar has continued, broadened, and grown through my time in Abilene. I will share with you a few artifacts that illustrate my growth in the four areas of reflection and support my ongoing commitment to the unique mission of ACU and to excellence in teaching, research, service, and collegiality.

For example, the link at the bottom of this page will take you to a table that briefly summarizes the department criteria for tenure with select examples showing satisfaction of these criteria. Subsequent sections will exhibit more detail for those who are interested.
