Not only is our population growing older but life for our seniors is also becoming more complex. Understanding all the financial, legal, and medical options and obligations can be overwhelming for them as well as for us. Add to these the challenges of maintaining a healthy relationship with our older parents.
What should be discussed? How do we talk with our parents about their future as they become more dependent and about life and death choices? How do we relate with respect for who they are? How do we best fulfill our obligation to honor our parents and still keep our own sanity?
Dr. Pruett encourages us to tackle the hard questions and still be close and loving at the ‘You and Your Aging Parent’ seminar held at ACU for faculty and staff November 12 and 19.
