Exercise is very important in our daily lives, but it becomes even more important as we begin to age. Exercise is an easy way to decrease stress, and it helps with your health as well. For example, exercise can decrease the chances of getting a disease, improve muscle strength and bone density, and strengthen your heart. While finding time to exercise may be more difficult, there are a few simple things you can do to remain active as you begin to grow older.

Take a walk in the Park or on a Trail

Walking outside is a great way to be active. It can slightly increase your heart rate, so you are still getting a form of cardiovascular exercise. Plus, it is good for your mental health because it releases serotonin and dopamine chemicals which helps improve your overall mood.

Household Chores

While doing chores may not be the first thing that we want to do, it is actually a very simple way to get in a few minutes of physical work. Picking up and moving slightly heavy objects is a good way to maintain muscular fitness without overworking the body. Also, dusting off objects engages the core and back muscles.

Park Further Away

Everyone looks for that perfect spot at the store that is right in front of the door. While those spots are nice, parking further back in the parking lot is a super simple way to add extra steps to your day.

These are just a few simple exercises that can easily be added to your daily routine. By incorporating some of these into your life, you increase your chances of maintaining a healthy life for longer as you begin to age.
