The Fall grant cycle is valid for travel to conferences from September 1 – February 14, Spring for January 1 – May 31, and Summer for June 1 – September 30.
- Applications for September may be submitted in either Summer or Fall; applications for January 1 – February 14 may be submitted in either Fall or Spring.
- Early Applications: If the abstract submission deadline for your event/conference precedes the application deadline for the appropriate URCI travel funding cycle (e.g., conference is in March, but abstract submission is due in November), then applicants may apply early (during the preceding funding cycle). Early applications submitted outside of regular funding cycle deadlines will not be considered until the following cycle.
- Submission Prior to Conference Acceptance: For conferences with low acceptance rates, applications for travel funding may be submitted before confirmation of abstract acceptance from the conference. Funding will be withheld until abstract acceptance is verified. Abstracts that are ultimately not accepted will not receive funding, and funds will be redistributed or saved for a later cycle.
- Late Applications: When pre-conference applications are not possible, applications for funding events from previous cycles will be considered during the following funding cycle if funds remain available. Late applications submitted outside of regular funding cycle deadlines will not be considered until the following cycle.
- Funding of early and late applications is not guaranteed and will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
