There are many summer research internship opportunities outside of ACU. Most last 8-10 weeks, pay a stipend, and pay for room and board.
There are many places that have lists of research opportunities for students from the Arts, Humanities, Social Sciences, and STEM. (So everyone.) The are grouped by area. (You will notice that some lists appear in multiple categories.)
The Council on Undergraduate Research (CUR) keeps a list of internships for a variety of fields on their Research Opportunities Page. The CUR Facebook page also lists many research opportunities.
