Purpose:
Design a prototype of a sculpture that will represent women who have trained, influenced and/or have given in some way their children in service to God. It could also represent women who have influenced children in a Godly way who are not their offspring. One of the Designs will be used to inspire a life-size bronze sculpture that will be placed on the ACU campus.

(Possible themes: From generation to generation, passing the torch, matriarch, mentoring, etc…)

Any ACU art student

Prizes:
1st place- $500
2nd place- $300
3rd place- $100

Requirements:

1) Drawings:
Graphite, Conte, or charcoal rendered on an 18” x 24” Strathmore (or comparable brand) finished in a mass and volume style to suggest three dimensionality.

OR

2) Sculpted Prototypes:
Oil clay sculpted in the full round on a clean MDF base with the edges sanded to a 220 grit finish. There may be a need for an armature mounted into the base, especially if there are appendages that are in need of support.

Deadline:
Submit proposals at the Department of Art and Design office (DM 142) by November 30, 2012
