Project 3: Alternative Cameras
Background
Experiment, experiment, experiment!
We are back to the experimentation mode. This assignment is an exercise on looking at things from a camera’s point-of-view — that is, think about the capabilities of each device you choose for your pictures. They all offer different results: a scanner ‘photographs’ based on a moving reading unit, cell phones provide low-res images, digital pinhole gives you alternative looks, toy cameras result on unexpected compositions, and so on.
Brief
As an ‘art photographer,’ you’ve been asked to collaborate on an art exhibit exploring the possibilities of a myriad of camera formats and applications. Consider wide range of cameras (see suggestions below) as the subject-matter is open to anything. Avoid Photoshop effects, and use manipulations wisely (levels, contrast, toning, etc.)
