User Scenario

0 Commentsby   |  04.10.17  |  User Scenarios (individuals) (P3)

Jon lives out in the country and just recently endured a major hailstorm so he’s been busy fixing up the property. His roof needs some major repairs and since the last one had been in use for years he’s not quite sure what to do. He’s looking for a website that will walk him through how to choose the right roof to replace the old one. He knows nothing about what to look for in a good roof so a friendly simple website that’s easy to navigate would be the golden goose. Obviously he’ll be looking for a map link to show if he’s in range of a company and some contact information as well as the hours of operation and a few other minor details. Most importantly he wants to make sure that the new roof will be in use for years by reading of other people’s success with the roof and the company. Do they have military discounts? Are there any images of houses in the area with some of the roofs he could see pictures of? How high are they rated in the area compared to others?

Talk to 5 people about the app
– concern that there are too many things going on for one app, maybe it would have a sister app for messaging landlord/paying rent etc.
Generate 5 names
roomer
roomr
boarder
habitue- a frequent or habitual visitor to a place:
habitr
habitat
bedfellow
Look for current apps/websites that do this
– Lovely
– Cozy
– Zillow- allows for finding apartments and setting up viewings
Write brief user story
– Trulia rentals
realtor.com rentals- allows for finding apartments and setting up viewings
Write brief user story
– Hot pads- search for apartments in your area
These apps are centered around seeing available apartments, it doesn’t seem like there is much capability for rating landlords, and these are geared towards big cities, not for college students. I think what would make it unique would be to target college students, have renters have unique profiles, allow them to be rated as well as landlords
Most are geared to apartments
