Course and Learning Design Assistance
The Adams Center provides individual and group consulting services for faculty focused on teaching and learning. Appointments are available for one-on-one meetings, small-group sessions, and customized workshops for departments and colleges. Contact Dr. Scott E. Teaching Consultation and Observation

- Integrating evidence-based pedagogies in face-to-face, hybrid and online courses
- Applying practical tips for grading efficiently
- Observing in the classroom. Mid-semester feedback via a focus group is available to “check the pulse” of your class for insights on what is working in a course as well as seeking recommendations for improving learning and teaching. An Adams Center staff member will come to your class for 10-15 minutes, lead a discussion about your students’ learning and report back to you.

Course Design
- Developing or redesigning syllabi
- Maximizing use of learning technologies in the teaching and learning process
- Review and feedback regarding course materials such as texts, presentations, handouts, project explanations, grading rubrics, etc.
- Creating engaging learning environments in face-to-face, hybrid, and online courses
Assessment
- Identifying course learning outcomes
- Establishing student performance benchmarks
- Designing assessments that align with your learning outcomes/benchmarks
- Analyzing and interpreting assessment results to inform learning design
