Weekly Announcements for week of March 25:
- Advising Information – Please note the following:
- Art 287 : Art for Elementary and Secondary Education is being offered this Fall. This will count as a non-specified studio elective.
- We’ve received enough interest from students to add additional online sections of Beginning Spanish I and Beginning Spanish II for Summer 2013. You may force add a student to FLSP 112 since the pre-requisite error will prevent your students from registering for both sections. The dates for the courses are listed below.
- FLSP 111.W3 – Summer I-II, May 13 – June 20
- FLSP 112.W3 – Summer III-IV, June 24 – August 1
- Wood Shop Hour Changes: The wood shop will be open different hours on Tuesday, March 26th – 5:30-7:30 pm
- Great Alumni Spotlight: http://www.commarts.com/insights/draw-outside-lines.html
- An article on Adobe’s website about our very own Ryan Feerer: http://www.adobe.com/designcenter/images-graphics/abi-haus-by-ryan-feerer.html
- Studio 13 here in Abilene has a $10 “come and paint and meet artists” night the last Tuesday of every month. I have not been very successful in googling any information about it. You may want to research a little to see what you can find.
- Art and Design Department Chapel THIS Thursday! Faith and Justice. This month we will hear from Derrick Bam about an opportunity just an hour or so away from us in Abilene. Derrick is the VP of Children’s Services at Foster’s Home for Children in Stephenville, TX and he will be talking to us about what they do and how students here can serve the children there. If you are interested in Art Therapy, Interior Design or Art for Elementary/Secondary Education this Chapel will be of special interest to you. Derrick is Arlene’s Older Brother, so join us for this great speaker and earn your chapel credit!
