ACU Art & Design Guest Lecture hosted by AIGA – THIS Friday
3pm, Friday January 23rd, Shore Gallery. Come and hear Ty Wilkins well known graphic designer and illustrator best known for his bold and colorful work for brands including: Target, Cheerios, Pepsi and The North Face.
Senior Show THIS Friday – ACU Downtown Gallery
SEISMIK, a senior show hosted by Isabel Lee, Stephanie Fink, Emily Teel, Kyle Plunk and Morgan Keefer opens THIS Friday at 5:00 at the ACU Downtown Gallery. Earn an Art Event credit at what promises to be a wonderful show.
Our judge: Kelly Mann is an interior designer from Houston, TX. After graduating from ACU with a degree in Interior Design and minor in Business Administration, Kelly started KMann Designs in November 2009. The company was originally created for graphic design, but is now primarily interior design. Kelly’s design style is a mix of modern and traditional.
Make sure you have posted and tagged pictures of your best recent work on the department Instagram using the hashtag acuartanddesign. The judges will be instructed to consider only images that were POSTED within the two-week competition dates, NOT images that may only have been TAGGED within the two week period. This means that images posted prior to the competition period will not be considered, regardless of when they were tagged.
We are asking students to thoughtfully choose their highest quality work and consider how best to present it on Instagram.
ADDYs Information and Website Update
Please see the posters around the department with the tear off information cards. The deadline listed for submitting entries is Dec. 10th. Check the ADDY’s website (note: this is the correct address, upload all your work to this site) to enter and submit your piece. Details about rules, entry fees and categories will be listed on the site.
Categories include: Graphic Design, Photography, Illustration.
The deadline to have your submission with all attached documentation after registration of your work online in the office is Dec 10th.If you have a piece that you would like to enter and have us consider scholarshiping the entry fee please see Mike.

1st Instagram Competition Winners!
Congratulations to the winner of the Art & Design’s first Instagram Competition, Anne-Marie Coffee! And the runner-up was Hilary Commer! Thanks to everyone who participated and submitted their work and to Jeff Rogers for being our first judge!

Holiday in the Hallway A&D Style – THIS Thursday
This Thursday wear your Ugly Christmas Sweater, your Elf costume, your reindeer ears and any other festive accessories and make sure you swing by the Art Office and enjoy some Merry Christmas Munchies between 10am and 3pm.
