Halloween A&D Costume-Palooza – Students and Faculty!
Dress up on Friday in your Halloween costume and swing by the Art and Design office area for treats! Even if you don’t have classes over here on Friday it’s a great excuse to wear a costume all day, “we have costume dress up day in the Art Department, you know how we are….”

The Big Country Art Association is a regional collective of artists whose work reflects the stunning diversity of artistic talent in west central Texas. This juried exhibition is open to all Big Country artists, amateur and professional, 18 years and older. Work in any medium (painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, ceramics) is welcome. You may enter a maximum of 3 pieces. The ACU Downtown Gallery, located at 1133 North 2nd St. in downtown Abilene, hosts the Fall 2014 Exhibition from Nov. 13–Dec. 6: gallery hours are Noon-3PM, Wednesday-Saturday.
ENTRY FEES:
Standard Fees ————— $25 for first artwork, $10 for additional work.
Students ———————- $20 for first artwork, $10 for each additional work.

SUBMISSION DEADLINES:
All presentation-ready work to be dropped of at the gallery:
Friday, Nov. 7 —————– Noon to 5PM
Saturday, Nov. 8 ————– 9AM-Noon
Pick up rejected pieces:
Saturday, Nov. 8 ———— 3:30 PM
PRIZES:
Cash prizes will be awarded for First, Second and Third Place in each of the three categories (2D, 3D, and photography), and one Best-of-Show. All work selected by the juror will be displayed in the ACU Downtown Gallery, 1133 North 2nd Street.

CONGRATULATIONS to five Senior Interior Design Majors Design who received awards at the ASID Texas Chapter Student Symposium held in Dallas on October 10-11, 2014.

3rd: Jill Crandall – Railway Hotel and Spa
Residential Design:
1st: Michael Ferguson – Loft 2024 – Futuristic Living Hi-Rise
2nd: Crystal Hiebert – West Texas Ranch – Sustainably Designed Single Family Home
Commercial Design:
2nd: Bryana Guy – “we think” – a corporate marketing firm
3rd: Bryana Guy – Parker, Nation & Rodriguez Marine Law Firm
Collaborative Team:
Sophomore, Jose Angel Lopez, was on the winning collaboration team formed on site for the Budget Workshop.
Scholarship Award
Of particular note, Senior Michael Ferguson received a $2500.00 Scholarship in addition to 3 design competition awards.
