Inclement Weather

by   |  02.24.15  |  Announcements

ACU’s Inclement Weather Procedures can be viewed on the HR web page. Due to this week’s closure and delay, the following is information regarding submitting time for hourly paid employees:

Non-Exempt employees will see a line titled “Inclement Weather” on their Web Time. Non-Exempt employees (including temporary employees) who did not work during the closure should record their normally scheduled hours as inclement weather for  2/23 and the morning of 2/24. Non-Exempt employees who worked any time during the closure, including checking work email and voice mail, should record the time worked as base pay and the remainder of their regular schedule as inclement weather.

Each Department needs to make a decision as to how to handle their student employees. Departments may:

1) allow students to work extra hours to make up the time missed
2) pay your student employees their regularly scheduled hours during the closure. Student employees will not have an inclement weather line and should record the hours as timed work
3) inform students that they will not be paid for the closure

Exempt employees need not take any action.

Please contact human resources at humanresources@acu.edu or x2359 if you have questions.

New Resource for Advice with Your Retirement Account

by   |  02.17.15  |  Announcements, Benefits

For Benefit Eligible Faculty and Staff,

Over the past few years several of you have requested for your independent financial advisors to be able to receive fees from your retirement account. Both ACU and TIAA-CREF recognize the importance of independent financial advisors and the value they bring to participants who may choose to or are already working with their own advisor. ACU is now making it easier for you to access independent advice by adding TIAA-CREF’s Participant Choice option to your retirement plan. With this service, participants can receive advice from local independent advisors on a fee for service basis. While we are making these additional services available, please keep in mind that TIAA-CREF offers several ways for participants to receive advice and guidance directly from their representatives or through their website at no additional cost to participants.

If you have questions about how to access the advice and guidance services offered by TIAA-CREF you can contact a TIAA-CREF representative at 1-800-842-2733 or visit www.tiaa-cref.org/acu. For details and instructions on the Participant Choice option please review this amendment to ACU’s plan and flyer from TIAA-CREF.
