As a member of the ACU faculty and staff, we are pleased to offer you and your family the opportunity to meet with an outside estate planning expert.  These private, independent, free, and confidential sessions are being conducted by Cayce Powell (’95).  Mr. Powell is an expert in estate planning, and the President of Thompson & Associates out of Tennessee.

Last year, Mr. Powell met and helped nearly two dozen members of our community.  His meetings were so successful, we asked him to come back again this year.  He will be on campus on September 12th.  If you are interested in one of the time slots, please schedule an appointment as soon as possible.

Advancement Services is looking for furniture to use in their newly renovated space. Students, Faculty, and Staff can now request a replacement ID card via the Depot’s website at acu.edu/depot. Once a request has been submitted, an ID card will be printed using the student’s/staff member’s existing ID photo. The ID will be printed within an hour and will be available for pick-up in the Depot.

Family First is hosting a marriage seminar with author/speaker, Gary Thomas, as he presents on his new book, Lifelong Love. The seminar will be September 16th from 6:30-8:45 pm in Hart Auditorium on the ACU campus. A dessert break is included.

The cost of the seminar is $10 a couple for ACU employees, and $20 a couple for non-ACU employees. Registration can be completed online through our website, www.acu.edu/family-first

Seating is limited so we encourage everyone to register as soon as possible.

ACU is excited to welcome a great, diverse new group of international students this Fall. Sometimes the first semester can be challenging as they form new networks and adjust to U.S. educational expectations and immigration requirements.  The CIE is ready to be a resource in the event that you see a student struggling or have questions about the cultural or immigration issues they might face.  Contact Gaby Lane (gcl10a@acu.edu, X2821) or Lucy Dawson (lld09a@acu.edu, X2237) for questions.  Also, see our Faculty/Staff Advisor Resources online for a review of basic immigration requirements for ACU and our international students.

The Athletics Dept. is having a “garage sale” of all of their remaining Adidas apparel!  Everything to wear from hats to pants, for hot and cold weather.  The sale will include both new and used clothing and great prices. Monday, August 29th, from 10:00-12:30 on the Moody Concourse.

You are also invited to a come-and-go open house celebrating the opening of Dillard Hall on Tuesday, August 23rd from 4pm-6pm. Student rooms will be open, as well as, the many common spaces in the hall. Dillard is unlike any other residential facility, and we are excited to share it with you.

We would also like to encourage you to join us in Moody Coliseum on Tuesday, August 16th from 5-5:45pm for a Goodbye Blessing, which will function as a farewell send-off and blessing for students and their families. Our traditional Candlelight Devo will also be later that evening at 8:30 in Beauchamp Amphitheater.

Please join us for Freshman move-in on Tuesday, August 16th from 8am-3pm. This year, students will be arriving in pre-established car lines and drop-off zones, during designated move-in times. We hope you are able to participate by unloading, moving students’ belongings, and/or greeting families. No special t-shirt or sign-up is needed. However, a limited number of new “Home Team” t-shirts will be available free of charge in the ticket window of the lower level of Campus Center beginning this Friday. Otherwise, we encourage you to wear purple. Residence Life or Wildcat Week staff will be on sight coordinating volunteers.
