Banner Changes Coming

by   |  02.13.17  |  Announcements, Training and Development

Phase 1 of major improvements to administrative Banner are coming soon. Most know “administrative Banner” by one or more of the following names: Internet Native Banner, INB, Big Banner, Banner-Banner and Oracle Banner.  The next generation of the Banner platform will significantly improve your ability to use Banner, with Java no longer required once all project phases are completed.  We are offering a second information session on Wednesday, February 15th, from 11 a.m. – noon in the CORE Classroom of the Brown Library.  You can view more details on the Computing Services blog  or contact hab.adkins@acu.edu for more information.

COBA Hosts Faculty Research Talk with Leading International Management Scholar

by   |  02.13.17  |  Announcements, Events

COBA is hosting a research talk with international management scholar, Dr. Mary Yoko Brannen, on February 22nd from 11:30 – 1 pm. In this lunch-time talk, Professor Brannen will discuss the current state of cross-cultural management research and the vital role of ethnography in helping to move the field forward. Central to her thesis is the importance of going beyond pre-determined generalized categorizations, to understanding individuals in their own context, thus allowing for more robust and externally valid cross-cultural studies.  Such learning from the Other in turn helps firms and individuals reflect back on their own assumptions, practices and behaviors contributing not only to growth and renewal but, even more importantly, to enhanced, more compassionate, cross-cultural understanding.

Interested faculty can RSVP to Kathy Garison (klg08e@acu.edu). Lunch will be provided.
