Have you ever wondered who can send mass emails to the ACU Campus? ACU’s  Internal Communication Policy seeks to define guidelines for group communication using technology at ACU.  It is the aim of this policy to acknowledge that email is the primary medium of communication for faculty and staff while also addressing the problem of unwanted email or “spam” through the proper use of the myACU portal. Gatekeepers for various audiences are identified in the policy.

Mom and Dad Are Getting Older: What You Should Plan For, Part 2

With older adults living longer, families are having to address the growing needs of older adults. Knowing what to plan for is an important step in caring for our loved ones, and in this second part series, Dr. Pruett will offer valuable tips that will help get you prepared.  RSVP or call ext. 2455 to reserve your spot.

Come celebrate the end of the semester with friends, family, and co-workers on April 24th from 6-8 p.m. at the First Baptist Family Life Center. Guests can enjoy free bowling, skating, game room, and gym activities, or socialize in the café while enjoying refreshments. All faculty, staff and their immediate families are invited, but arrive on time, as building capacity is 200 guests. See you there!

You are invited to a come and go celebration of Lois Marie Reed on Friday, April 28 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m in the foyer of the Onstead Science Building. There will be a time of reflection at 2:30 p.m.  If you would like to share your memories, please email Chris Smith at chris.smith@acu.edu. No gifts please; if desired, donations may be made to the Lois Marie Reed Scholarship Endowment.

The Wildcat football team will be volunteering their services for the 1st Annual Spring Clean-Up around the city of Abilene on April 22nd.  Since this is the first time to hold the event, they are looking for help in identifying yards around Abilene to clean.  The main goal is to help the elderly and/or those who need help but cannot afford it.  The team will do things such as rake leaves, pick up garbage, move unwanted items to the curb, sweep out garages, spread mulch, and other miscellaneous outdoor projects. If you know of anyone that could benefit from this service or  if you have any questions, please contact Blake Andersen at bpa17a@acu.edu

The ACU Library will be closed from 4/14/17 – 4/16/17 for Easter Break.

In April of 2007, ACU adopted Google as its primary email provided. This was a bold and innovative move that provided ACU students, faculty, and staff with access to a plethora of Google Apps. ACU was one of the first Universities in the world to make such a move. Since that time, our relationship with Google has allowed us to flourish in many ways.

Monday, April 17 from 1:00-2:30 p.m., there will be a retirement reception honoring Dr. Eric Hardegree.  Dr. Hardegree has been with the Chemistry and Biochemistry Department for 32 years. The reception will take place in the Halbert-Walling Lobby. There will be a short presentation at 1:30 p.m. Please come and share this joy with Dr. Hardegree and his family along with faculty and staff.
