Back by popular demand, ACU Library will partner with the Language and Literature department to bring Poetry Slam – a free evening of performance poetry. Poetry Slam places dual emphasis on writing and performance, encouraging poets to focus on what they’re saying and how they’re saying it. The free event is open to all and will feature Dr. Al Hailey’s poetry workshop students as well as anyone else interested in participating in the open mic session. This year, Poetry Slam pays tribute to Bob Dylan, who won the 2016 Nobel Prize for Literature.  Dylan is the first songwriter to receive the prestigious award and was honored for his creative poetic expressions within the American song tradition.
