ACU Medical Clinic Now Serving Patients 2 Yrs+

We’ve heard you! The ACU Medical Clinic is now seeing employee dependents two years and over for acute care appointments. The office visit is $40 and any labs or tests will be an additional fee. You may pay with your ACU Banner account, check, cash or debit, credit and HSA cards.

Benefits Tip: HRA Funds/Benny Card

Since the HRA plan closed on December 31, 2017, the line of credit you had available on your Benny Card is no longer active.  If you had claims that were incurred in 2017 and have not paid those yet and you still had credit in your HRA, you have until March 1, 2018 to file for a reimbursement from your account.  If you have any questions, please contact Elsa Dunson at edunson@holmesmurphy.com or Human Resources.

Save the Date: FACUL Spring Banquet

Join us in the Hunter Welcome Center, 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, March 20, for Angels Unawares: Untold Stories of the Jacob’s Dream Sculpture at ACU.  Jack (’78) and Jill (Thompson ’78) Maxwell will discuss the creation of Abilene’s most famous sculptures and provide new insights into the impact of Jacob’s Dream on them and their audiences. The banquet also features a sneak peak into the production of their newest public sculpture of angels from the Bible.  Please sponsor a table and purchase tickets here. Departments and individuals cannot use an ACU pcard to purchase tables or individual tickets. To make a purchase using a FOAP, contact Molly at ext. 2340.

Undergraduate Research Festival

Applications and abstracts for the 2018 Undergraduate Research Festival are due on Friday, February 2nd by 5 p.m.

The ACU Undergraduate Research Festival, scheduled for Tuesday, March 27, 2018, gives students an opportunity to present their research during concurrent sessions or as a poster. More information and links to apply may be found on the our blog.
Helpful information about how to prepare abstracts, posters, and presentations is available on the research festival blog.

Benefits Tip: New Medical ID Cards

All employees that are covered under ACU’s medical plan will receive new GPA medical ID cards.  You should expect to receive these by the end of this week.  If you need to pick up a prescription before you receive your new card, please give the pharmacy the following information:

Issuer:  CVS/caremark
Pharmacy Member Services:  1-800-334-8134 (if Employee has questions)
Pharmacist Help Desk:  1-800-364-6331 (if Pharmacy has questions)
All other information will remain the same unless you switched medical plans.

New Library Database

ACU Library now offers access to the EBSCO American Antiquarian Society Historical Periodicals Collection, covering the years 1693-1877.  This rich historical collection contains over 10 million pages from 6,500 historical periodicals published from the early colonial days through the Civil War and Reconstruction.  Broad subject areas covered in the collection reach into every facet of American life, including science, literature, medicine, agriculture, women’s fashion, family life, and religion.  The database list and access to this collection can be found on the library’s web page at www.acu.edu/library
