ACU Night at the Zoo

Registration closes tonight for ACU Night at the Abilene Zoo! a free evening of fun, community and attractions for ACU students, faculty, staff and their families! Join us Tuesday, April 12, from 6-9 p.m. to enjoy the zoo’s exhibits, along with free admission to the carousel, zoo train and giraffe feeding station. Concessions will also be available to purchase. The event is free but registration is required – RSVP today!

Refuge Ranch Membership & Discount Codes for Faculty & Staff

This organization was founded by a fifth-generation Wildcat and former employee, Jason Groves and his wife, Amber. It is intentionally designed to make it easy to say “yes” to reconnecting with each other, ourselves and our Creator. These short videos of Refuge Ranch in Buffalo Gap and Fort Refuge in Tuscola provide a glimpse of the array of experiences you can enjoy throughout the year with others or alone. New Stop Signs

ACU and the City of Abilene continue to partner to make the streets surrounding campus as safe as possible. After a recent traffic study, the City has installed new stop signs at the intersection of 19th and Campus Court. The best way to avoid a ticket and keep your fellow wildcats safe is to follow the traffic laws. As a reminder pedestrians have the right-of-way in crosswalks.

Griggs Center Venture Out Market

Come SHOP from over 35+ student entrepreneurs at the Griggs Center Venture Out Market in HWC on April 6th from 11:30am – 1:30pm. Market Hall opens at 11:30am with a gift basket raffle every 30 minutes and free totes to the first 100 customers.

All-State Choir Camp

Join us for ACU’s very first All-State Choir Camp, June 29-July 2, 2022! Our camp offers high school students the tools and experiences they need to be successful in the TMEA All-State Choir audition process. Our camp will focus on all aspects of choral musicianship, including leadership, service, community-building, and being a well-rounded singer. For more information and registration, click here. Staff Senate Voting

Each year the ACU staff elects 10 new senators to represent them on the Staff Senate. Please review the candidates and cast up to 10 votes. 14th Annual Undergraduate Research, Creativity & Innovation Festival

Please plan to join us for the 14th annual ACU Undergraduate Research, Creativity & Innovation Festival on Tuesday, April 12th, 2022, in the Hunter Welcome Center from 9:30a.m. to 4:20p.m. Undergraduate students from ACU, surrounding universities, and local high schools will present papers throughout the day; poster presentations will be from 11:30a.m. to 1:00p.m. The Top Scholars Presentations will be from 4:30p.m. to 6:00p.m. The event is open to the public, and there is no cost for the event. The program for the day is available on the event website. If you have any questions, contact the Office of Undergraduate Research at uresearch@acu.edu.

Retirement Celebration for Dan Garrett

You are invited to attend a retirement reception to celebrate Dan Garrett’s more than three decades of service to Abilene Christian University and the ACU Foundation. Join us on the Hunter Welcome Center’s east patio, facing Faubus Fountain Lake, on Friday, April 29 from 4-5:30 p.m. with a special recognition at 4:30 p.m. The event is free to attend, but we’d love to know you’re coming – click here to RSVP.  During registration, you can write a note of encouragement or blessing for Dan – you can also email your thoughts to the ACU Office of Gift Planning at giftplanning@acu.edu. We plan to share your well wishes with Dan before he retires.

International Student Support Team

As the end of the school year is fast approaching, the Office of International Students & Visiting Scholars would like to continue to grow our International Student Support team. Some of the unique needs that our international students have include – summer storage for their belongings, help with moving out, rides to the airport, summer housing, driving lessons, and the like.
