Call for Honors Colloquium Proposals

The Honors College invites ACU faculty to submit proposals for Honors Colloquia for the 2025-2026 academic year. These seminars provide a unique opportunity to share your expertise and interests with some of ACU’s top undergraduate students in a collaborative, small-class setting. We encourage you to submit your proposal if you have a compelling idea! Priority consideration will be given to submissions received by December 31, with the final deadline on January 13. Undergraduate Research, Creativity, and Innovation Festival Abstract Submissions

Applications and abstracts for the 2025 Undergraduate Research, Creativity, and Innovation Festival at Abilene Christian University are due on Monday, February 3, 2025 by 5 p.m. The ACU Undergraduate Research, Creativity, and Innovation Festival is scheduled for Tuesday, April 15, 2025 in the Hunter Welcome Center. To learn more about the Undergraduate Research, Creativity, and Innovation Festival, watch this video. For additional information and to submit a proposal, visit this link. Please encourage students who have been working on research this semester to submit an abstract. Christmas Closure and Year-End Giving

With the University closed for the holidays December 23-January 1, Advancement Services wants you to know that any donation checks postmarked by December 31 will still be gift receipted as 2024 gifts. Upcoming Holidays: Christmas & New Year’s Day

Google AI Quick Build Competition

On Dec 9th from 10 AM – 12 PM & 2 PM – 4 PM in Main Floor of the Brown Library, Staff and Faculty are invited to participate in an engaging competition experience where contestants race to build creations, with real-time Gemini-powered AI commentary and fun takeaways! Prepare for a thrilling, live LEGO building competition! Multiple contestants will go head-to-head in a race against time to construct a LEGO creation given the same brief. A lively AI commentator will keep the excitement levels soaring with their witty observations, while a sophisticated AI judge will use advanced technology to impartially evaluate each masterpiece and crown the ultimate champion. Each contestant will take home a cherished memento: a personalized card showcasing an AI-enhanced image of their creation, along with their scores. But the fun doesn’t stop there! They’ll also receive a unique digital keepsake – an animated GIF capturing the entire building process, providing a playful reminder of their experience.

Christmas Timesheet Due Dates

Our first paycheck of 2025 will be paid on January 3rd. For this pay date, timesheets are due on 12/30/2024, during the Christmas Closure. To ensure you are paid on time, we encourage you to have your timesheet submitted before you leave for the break. Because that payroll will be processed during the break, we will not be able to accept any late timesheets. If your timesheet is not submitted by the deadline, your payment may be delayed until the following payday on 1/17/25.
