Abilene Marriage Seminar

Join us for a one-day marriage seminar for couples in the Abilene and Big Country area, January 31st, from 9am-3:30pm at the DoubleTree by Hilton Abilene Downtown Convention Center. The seminar is sponsored by the University Church of Christ and features speaker Dr. Heidi Morris (Director of ACU Faulkner Center). Cost is $75 per couple. Register HERE.

Faulkner Center Spring Dinner Event

Tickets are now on sale for the Spring 2026 Faulkner Center Dinner. This year’s dinner event will be a hometown welcome featuring authors and speakers, Eleanor Hamby and Dr. Sandra Hazelip. Their new book, Here We Go, published by Penguin Random House, chronicles their adventures and friendship that took them around the world in 80 days while turning 80 years old. Here We Go expands on the joyous message of hope that launched them into the spotlight, landing them guest appearances on CBS Mornings and The Drew Barrymore Show. Come and enjoy a family friendly dinner with these remarkable speakers as they share their inspiring story. This is on February 17th, 2026, from 6-8 pm in the ACU Hunter Welcome Center. Workday Updates

As we continue to get used to the new Workday system, here are some reminders for this month:

  • All Travel and Purchasing Card expenses that occurred in 2025 need to be processed in Concur. All Concur transactions need to be completed by January 15th. Failure to complete transactions in Concur may result in the suspension of your purchasing card.
  • Salaried employees do not need to submit time in Workday every two weeks. Vacation and sick time need to be submitted via Request Absence in a timely manner, but not time worked. 
  • Hourly employees will submit time every two weeks as usual. Time worked will be submitted via Enter My Time and time off will be submitted via Request Absence.

Workday is Live

Workday is officially available to all ACU employees. You can access the system via the link in myACU. You can look for a separate email with more information about the launch, but here are a few quick reminders:

  • Leave Balances will not be updated until December 20th, so you may have to wait until that time to submit absence requests.

  • Finance related processes do not begin until January. Please do not submit any finance tasks until that time.

  • Photos in Workday are imported from your ACU ID photo. You can find instructions for updating that in this Support article.

Benefits Tip: Telemedicine-Teladoc

With the busy traveling time among us, please keep in mind that ACU has a telemedicine option available. ACU partners with Teladoc to provide telemedicine to all employees and dependents enrolled on the medical plan. Getting sick is never convenient, but telemedicine provides more convenient, quicker access to a medical professional for common conditions. Teladoc allows members to access a doctor from your home, office, or anywhere – 24/7/365. To access Teladoc, you will visit Teladoc.com or the Teladoc app.

Staff Senate Announcement

 Thanks to all who joined the Jingle Mingle last week! The next dates to mark your calendar for are: Communal Sabbath with Yoga Nidra – Thursday, Dec. 11, 1:30-2:30 p.m in SWRC, Studio A. This will be a time of yoga nidra (yoga rest). No special attire, equipment or flexibility required. Come rest together with guided, scripture-based meditation. All Staff Chapel – Tuesday, Dec. 16, 11-11:30 a.m. at Chapel on the Hill Worship with us before the HR Christmas lunch at the Bean. Dr. BJ Gensic will share and Eric Lemmons will lead music. It will be a meaningful time together to close the semester! Congratulations to our November CompassPro winners: Tyson Alexander, Katrina Simpson-Pelleran, Claire Ferrell Rawlins, and Jonathan Smith We’d like to give a special thanks to our November Shout Out Winner, Hayleigh Honea, for her commitment, dedication, sacrifice, and contribution to ACU’s mission and fellow employees, especially in her behind-the-scenes efforts readying us for Workday! Benefits Tip: Travel Assistance

The Standard’s Travel Assistance offers members aid before your trip, which includes assistance with cultural information, immunization requirements, visa and passport requirements, foreign exchange rates, assistance with lost or stolen luggage and/or prescriptions, and other travel advisories. The Standard’s Travel Assistance also assists with emergency medical transportation benefits for covered individuals traveling 100+ miles from home.
