Our chapel theme this semester is Encountering God. We are looking forward to hearing from Dan McGregor this week on the topic, “Encountering God in Atheists.” We will meet this Thursday, October 31st at 11:00am in 141.

Mat Cutter

As many of you are probably aware, we are missing the metal insert that fits into the straight-cut side of our mat cutter. This is the part that holds the blade for making straight (non-bevel) cuts into matboard.

IF YOU KNOW WHERE THIS IS, PLEASE RETURN IT!!! It is a $50 part and its absence reduces the effectiveness of our mat cutter significantly. You can return it to the mat cutting room or drop it in the art office. No questions will be asked; the department just needs the cutter fully functioning again.

Printmaking Workshop

The workshop will focus on ways to produce high quality prints without the expensive presses. The workshop is Saturday the 2nd from10am to 5pm at the Amy Graves Ryan Fine Art Gallery at McMurry University. This workshop is for anyone 12 and over and has a cost of $15 per person for materials. We will be producing in a hands-on environment, 1. foam cut relief, 2. Plexiglass Intaglio, 3. Linocut, 4. Monotype and 5. Silkscreen.
