Hello ACU A&D,

Welcome back! We hope you enjoyed your spring break. There are quite a few announcements this week, so make sure and read to the end!

A&D Mandatory Meeting

Don’t forget to attend the Art & Design Department mandatory meeting TODAY at 4:30 pm. We’ll be meeting in the Shore Gallery. A lot of important information will be shared that you need to know to graduate on time, so be sure to attend!

Small Business Pop-Up

Do you have your own business? Come promote your business at the Inland Ocean Coalition small business pop-up! The event will happen on campus on April 9, and you can participate for a fee of $35. For more information, contact Megan Lovejoy by March 26th.

Senior Show & Reception: American Wild

Come visit Rebekah Conder’s senior show, American Wild! The show will run from March 17 to April 30th, and the reception is this Saturday, March 26th, from 3:30-5:00. Food and refreshments will be provided!

A+D Bible Study

A&D Bible study resumes this Sunday evening (3/27) from 7:00-8:30 P.M. at the home of Dan and Laura McGregor, 810 Canyon Court (corner of Canyon and Gill, just a few minutes from campus).

We’re continuing to explore the Sermon on the Mount in Matthew’s Gospel. It’s pretty easy to jump in if you’ve never attended before, so first-timers are always welcome! Chapel credit will be available.

Design Opportunity: Abilene Gives

Big Country CASA is in need of graphics for a yearly giving campaign – Abilene Gives. On May 3, 2022, Abilene Gives will launch a 24-hour period of giving to select nonprofits. We would like to promote this day of giving on all social media platforms and via postcards, highlighting Big Country CASA and the work that we do. This could look like a save the date, scan/text to give, and any other graphics! Learn more about Abilene Gives here, and more information about Big Country CASA can be found here.

If you have any questions or are interested in helping, contact Lauren Anderson at laurenanderson@bigcountrycasa.org.

Artovation 2022: TASA Call for Student Art

The Texas Association of Schools of Art is currently accepting submissions for their online annual spring student competition. Any student (2-year, 4-year, or grad student) is welcome to submit one or two virtual art pieces completed in 2021-22 by April 1, 2022. There’s no entry fee, and they do have cash prizes!
