Bill Frakes – Photographer & Filmmaker

We’re delighted to announce that this week Sports Illustrated photographer Bill Frakes will be on campus. Bill has covered major sporting events around the world in a career that has spanned profound transitions in journalism and his own work first as a photographer and now also as a filmmaker. Bill recently served as a chair for the World Press Photo contest for sports photography in 2013 that made final selections from over 100,000 entries.

Schedule:

Oct 1 (Tues), 7:00 pm – Feature Presentation in Williams Performing Arts Center

Oct 2 (Wed), 5:30 pm – Portfolio Presentation with JMC/Art majors in Don Morris 141 pizza talk. This will be targeted more toward questions about developing and sharing a portfolio and his creative process.

Our chapel theme this semester is Encountering God. We are looking forward to hearing from Brandon Young. We will meet this Thursday, October 3rd at 11:00am in Room 141. See you there!

ACU Art & Design Chapel

Our chapel theme this semester is Encountering God. We are looking forward to hearing from Ronnie Rama in our first departmental chapel. We will meet this Thursday, Sept. 26th at 11:00am in Room 141. See you there!

AIGA

We will have our first meeting of the year THIS Thursday which will also cover new members joining and go over renewing memberships and what being in AIGA is all about. We will meet in room 141 at 6 o clock and should only be there for a half hour/ 45 minutes!

Mark your calendar for October 1, 2013, 7-8:30pm in the Williams Performing Arts Center. Frakes will present his works and talk about the context and stories behind some iconic imagery.

Advising Workshops…Your new best friend!

Don’t just build your schedule for next semester, come to one of our workshops and build your schedule all the way to graduation!

We are starting to offer these workshops this semester for all our students so that you can take charge of your degree tracking. You will have time to actually map out your classes during this workshop time. We want to equip you in every way possible to manage your degree planning so that you do not take unnecessary classes so that you can complete your requirements in the most timely way possible. The next one will be THIS Wednesday September 25 at 11am in Room 141.

If you came to the last one you are more than welcome to come back and continue working on your degree plan tracking!
