Abilene ADDY Competition – Call For Entries

The ADDY Awards is our industry’s largest and most represented competition for creative excellence from students and professionals. The Abilene ADDY Awards is the first of a three-tier competition. Advertising, marketing, business, art, and design professionals compete in hopes of having their work from the previous year recognized by winning a gold, silver or bronze award. Students compete in their own competition with similar categories. The local competition is judged by industry professionals outside of the community and the winners are brought together for a special evening of food, fun, celebration and recognition.

*Both local student and professional gold winners from the local ADDY Awards are forwarded to the AAF District 10 to compete. District winners are then forwarded to the third tier to compete in the National ADDYs.

6th Annual Student Art Contest for Summit – Call For Submissions

The 6th annual Student Art Contest for Summit is open for submissions.  The ACU Ministry Events Office calls any current ACU student to submit their original artwork, photography, drawing, painting, or other creation to visually communicate the 2013 Summit theme.  Submissions must be received digitally to summit@acu.edu by February 15, 2013.  One select work will be awarded a cash prize of $100 and used to advertize the 2013 Summit.

This year’s theme is Margins:  Following Jesus at the Edge in Luke’s Gospel.  Participants are called as disciples who follow Jesus into the edges of society.  Jesus tends to hang out in the margins of society with diverse people outside of social norms.  These stories, parables and teachings of Jesus, unique to Luke’s gospel, invite us to join Jesus in the margin.
