Dr. Seuss Inspired Intercollegiate Competition

The Abilene Cultural Affairs Council and the ACU Downtown Gallery is now accepting entries for the Dr. Seuss Inspired Intercollegiate Competition. The work will be on display from May 16, 2012 – June 28, 2012. The selected works will also be featured during the CALF in June of 2012!

To enter:

Create a child apropriate piece (creature, vehicle, or enviromental element) inspired by one of the following Dr. Seuss Books:

The Lorax
The Cat in The Hat
If I Ran the Zoo
Green Eggs and Ham
Oh, The Places You’ll Go
One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish
Horton Hears a Who
The Sneeches
Yertle the Turtle
How the Grinch Stole Christmas

Submissions:

Due May 2nd-5th

ACU Downtown Gallery

Entry Fees: $13 for 1 entry ; $20 for 2 entries

Artist will be notified if their piece is selected.

There will be cash prizes!!!

Come out to the ACU Downtown Gallery this Thursday at 6 pm for the Annual Cameo Senior Art Show. The seniors showcased will be James Utley, Kimmy McNiece, Morgan Hallmark, Katie Stumbo, Corey Hale, Jay Hendrick, and Kasi Svodoba.

Everyone! It is time again for the Annual ACU Art & Design Student Competition! Every single student is encouraged to enter. Last year we awarded over $10,000 dollars in scholarships and this year we are doing the same. You can enter work in several different categories including 2-d, 3-d, Design, and more! Entries will be received ~~Apri 23rd from 9 am-5pm~~ Tuesday, Apri 24th from 9 am-5pm. The reception will be April 27th at 5:30 pm.
